Happy One Year to my site!
I don’t know if you would consider it a birthday, and anniversary, or just a fluke. Either way, a little over a year ago I started this blog with very little idea about how it would really come together or play out.

Some of the most life-changing things occur so suddenly – out of the blue there is a drastic turn of events and things are instantly not what they were before. The separation is created: what was before, and what came after. These life altering events are not planned. Rather, they come on an otherwise subdued Tuesday evening.
I love my job. And yet, the night before going back to work after vacation is always the absolute worst. How lovely to shut down for a week and close up the mental shop in exchange for some R&R.
Today I thought I would share a few random thoughts that I have been jotting down in between summer soccer games, mosquito bites, and splash parks. Let me know if you can relate or have something to add to this list.
P.S. – I realize that I am a crazy person.
I got my first piece published this month. I almost cried. It was so cool to see my words and name in physical print before me. Accomplishing this little feat has fueled the tiny sparks that are increasingly becoming real and palpable goals.
This weeks jams. 90’s were the best. Too many great ones to count. These are just a sampling of my faves.
I love being so feel-it-in-your-bones tired that you barely make it into bed, falling heavily into the sheets like you just climbed Mt. Everest, about to conquer your dreams. Waking a wonderful 10 hours later, stretching and feeling ahhh-maz-ing. Except yeah, that is usually not my experience.
I start each day so tired. I blink through sleepy eyes thinking, “I am definitely getting to bed earlier tonight! I have never felt so darn tired.” And yet, if you are anything like me, real life doesn’t seem to work out that way. Like many of you, I literally cannot remember the last time I felt really well rested and woke refreshed from a full night’s rest.
Today I felt like garbage. It was my day off – a Tuesday – after working the weekend. I had so many plans, so many checks on my ‘To Do’ list to knock out. And you know what I got done? Pretty much nothing.
Mix of new and old… definitely check out Saturday Sun and Sit Next to Me. On repeat this week!
My toddler is turning. I knew it would happen, but this one took still took me by surprise.
